Key Responsibilities- Medication Administration: Provide high-quality care by administering medications and treatments in a safe and organized manner.
- Documentation and Communication: Document and communicate medication administration, including reviewing and updating resident medication records, and notifying the Resident Care Director (RCD) or Wellness Nurse of any changes or concerns.
- Medication Management: Ensure that medications are passed according to schedule, and document and initial medications as given, including recording refusal or missed doses.
- Confidentiality and Safety: Maintain confidentiality of resident information, including medication records, and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Report any resident concerns or issues related to medication administration to the RCD or Wellness Nurse, and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication administration.
- Education and Certification: High school diploma or equivalent, and certification in medication administration (as required by state or province).
- Experience: Previous experience working with seniors, preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to make choices and decisions in the best interest of residents, react calmly in difficult situations, and handle multiple priorities.
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
