Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with respiratory disorders, utilizing advanced pulmonary diagnostics and ventilator management skills.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Operate and maintain complex ventilators, ensuring accurate and safe patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting self-care and disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the advancement of respiratory care practices.
Requirements
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months, or active Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential issued by the NBRC if received prior to January 1, 2019.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
  • Requires 1 year of experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including electronic mail and electronic medical record systems.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change assignments quickly and float within the contracted site.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to lift 50 lb objects from knee to waist, lift 50 lb objects from floor to waist height occasionally, and lift 40 lb objects at waist height and carry them across various distances. The ability to push/pull while utilizing 30# of force occasionally for long distances is also required. Additionally, the role involves standing-pivot transfers from bed to chair, sliding transfers of 150 lb persons on a sheet across 2 feet with a second person, and utilizing safe body mechanics at all times.
