Job Summary

The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the role of a Workforce Development Specialist II. This position will play a critical role in supporting the Cabinet's mission to educate, prepare, and train Kentucky's current and future workforces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide employment support services to veterans determined to be job ready by Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialists.
  • Advocate job development, job training, opportunities, and matches the veterans to employment opportunities generated by business outreach.
  • Explain programs and requirements of other workforce partners and refer work-ready veterans to businesses and monitor to ensure veterans receive priority of service in all offices within area of responsibility.
  • Assist businesses/employers with posting vacant positions and follow-up with employers.
  • Maintain veterans' statistical information and report any issues.
  • Provide training to American Job Center staff and other partner staff on the duties of the Jobs for Veterans State Grant staff.
Requirements
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Military experience.
