About Our Division

Our Capital Markets division offers a comprehensive suite of investment banking, global market, credit, and research services tailored for institutional, corporate, and governmental clients across North America and other key global markets.

The U.S. Middle Market Investment Banking team specializes in advising private enterprises, private equity firms, and corporations on a variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, as well as private capital raises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the growth of CIBC's U.S. Investment Banking platform as an Analyst.
  • Prepare marketing materials and perform analyses for pitches and transactions, contributing actively throughout the deal process.
  • Conduct industry research to identify and analyze investment banking opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and liaise with various units within CIBC Capital Markets to execute mandates and prepare client proposals.
  • Organize and assist in the development of presentations for potential clients.
  • Perform financial analysis and industry assessments to formulate client recommendations.
  • Engage in comparable public company and precedent transaction analyses for valuation purposes.
  • Assist in due diligence processes for companies.
  • Draft offering memoranda, management presentations, and other marketing materials for transactions.
  • Coordinate and participate in client meetings and calls.
  • Develop and validate financial models.
