Job Description:

Banyan Medical Systems is seeking a per diem Psych APRN to join our team in Boca Raton, Florida. This role involves interacting with the Medical Director and treatment team by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial evaluations, including psychiatric evaluations and history and physical evaluations.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to provide comprehensive care.
  • Document patient progress and regress according to established policies and procedures.
  • Assess patients' need for weekly medical consultations.
  • Provide primary care and medical treatment.
  • Supervise and instruct patients in medication self-administration and health education as needed.
  • Review lab results and provide treatment or referrals as necessary.
  • Initiate, monitor, and manage therapies, including pharmacotherapy, under protocol approval from the Medical Director.
  • Evaluate behavioral problems and diagnoses, making treatment recommendations.
  • Order consults for other medical specialties when needed.
  • Provide the Medical Director with case review findings and detailed consult reports.
  • Oversight of infection control, ensuring proper procedures and policies are followed.
  • Daily evaluation of patient care by assessing patients and reviewing nursing documentation.
  • Utilization review with detailed information for appropriate care levels.
  • Communicate with families and healthcare professionals regarding patient care.
  • Reporting infection control incidents to Performance Team and Risk Management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice as a Psych ARNP in Florida.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's degree in Nursing and clinical training in a healthcare specialty area.
  • 2-5 years of experience as an APRN in medical or psychiatric settings.
  • Availability to work every Saturday and occasional fill-ins at the Pompano facility as needed.
Abilities and Competencies:
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.
  • Adherence to the Healthcare Code of Ethics.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission Standards.
  • Understanding of State and Federal statutes related to client confidentiality, drug-free workplaces, corporate integrity, and compliance.
  • Demonstrated competencies in assessing mental health, trauma, abuse, neglect, exploitation, suicide, and homicide.
