About the RoleThis challenging and rewarding role will see you assist our ophthalmologist in diagnosing and treating a variety of eye conditions, ensuring the best outcomes for our patients. As part of our skilled team, you will be integral to our mission of providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities- Diagnosis and Treatment: Assist veterinarians in performing eye examinations, diagnosing conditions, and planning treatments.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by our veterinary team.
- Diagnostics and Imaging: Perform diagnostic tests including tonometry, fluorescein staining, digital imaging, and ultrasound as needed.
- Surgical Support: Monitor anesthetized patients during surgical procedures and assist in post-operative care.
- Patient Education: Educate pet owners about eye health, treatment plans, and medication administration.
- Medical Records: Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
- Work Environment: Ensure a clean and safe work environment for both staff and patients.
- Professional Development: Participate in continuing education and stay updated on advancements in veterinary ophthalmology.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a veterinary technician program is preferred.
- Certification: Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) is preferred.
- Experience: Experience in veterinary ophthalmology is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Multitasking: Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Animal Handling: Comfort handling a variety of animals.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to work holidays and on-call shifts.
