Apprentice Lineworker

Primary Utility Services, LLC is seeking a skilled and ambitious Apprentice Lineman to join our team. As an Apprentice Lineman, you will be responsible for assisting in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems.

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work.
• String overhead wire, set poles and anchors, and assist with installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses in transformers and clearing faulted circuits and systems.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order.
• Perform rigorous physical labor and work at heights and/or confined spaces.
• Understand and follow proper safety protocols, including minimum approach distance and excavation and shoring requirements.
• Check voltage on transformers and install and remove services as needed.
• Work outside, frequently in inclement weather, and be willing to glove/work live high voltage distribution lines.

• Climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.) and possess the necessary tools to do so.
• Identify different types of materials used in line work and properly inspect rubber goods and PPE.
• Understand and use Kellum grips and basic rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot tying.
• Capable of receiving and following directions and possessing a basic knowledge of materials used in line work.
