Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Royal American Companies. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the preservation and upkeep of our properties, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of appliances, fixtures, and equipment
  • Conduct regular inspections of apartment units, buildings, and common areas to identify and address any maintenance issues
  • Operate and maintain various equipment, including HVAC units, plumbing systems, and electrical systems
  • Assist in custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of common areas
  • Participate in a standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; previous experience preferred
  • Knowledge of property maintenance procedures and protocols
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver's license required (if required by Management based on location/property or business needs)
Working Conditions

The Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The position requires the ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and equipment, and to work at heights and in confined spaces.

The Maintenance Technician will be required to travel independently for the purpose of conducting regular property business, and must have a government-issued state ID or valid driver's license if required by Management based on location/property or business needs.

The position requires the ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and to be on call as needed.

The Maintenance Technician will be expected to maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, and to adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
