We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist III to join our team at Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing advanced respiratory care to patients in our intensive care unit.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
- Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Program.
- Licensed by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.
- Nevada State license to perform arterial blood gases.
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care and the Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (NPS) credential.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
- One year's experience in an acute care facility or freestanding practice with current/recent acute care Respiratory Therapist experience within the last six months.
- Critical Care and Ventilator Management experience in Adult and Pediatric/Neonatal setting.
Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center is a 260+ bed acute care hospital providing emergency and pediatric emergency services. Our facility also offers a behavioral health unit serving teens and adults, an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center, and a dedicated orthopedic and spine unit.
