Position Overview:
We are in search of a DIRECTOR OF SURGICAL SERVICES to join our esteemed organization. This role involves planning and coordinating the services of the nursing unit in alignment with medical and administrative systems.
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the hospital's leadership team, contributing to planning, policy development, and decision-making regarding the nursing unit's functions and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient care, safety, and satisfaction are prioritized.
- Oversee management of resources and fiscal responsibilities.
- Collaborate closely with administrative and medical staff to coordinate patient care services.
- Direct, manage, and supervise the surgical services team.
- Provide departmental orientations, communication, meetings, training, and ongoing education to staff, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Being present and accessible to staff, physicians, and contracted services is essential to ensure operational efficiency, effective workflows, and conflict resolution.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution; Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years as an operating room RN.
- At least two (2) years in a leadership capacity.
Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana or eligibility to obtain.
- CPR and ACLS certification within 180 days of hire.
Skills:
- Proficient in administrative tasks and management theories.
- Experience in human resource and financial management.
