Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) team. As a BHU RN, you will play a critical role in providing short-term intensive mental health treatment for adults in crisis. Our treatment team consists of psychiatrists, registered nurses, case management personnel, activities therapists, and mental health technicians, working together to provide comprehensive care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based practices to engage patients in treatment and foster positive outcomes
  • Initiate and document preoperative and discharge planning, as well as patient teaching
  • Work in an organized and time-conscious manner to ensure efficient care delivery
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license
  • Current BLS certification
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification within 30 days of employment start date
