Overview:

The Certified Healthcare Assistant is responsible for executing a variety of tasks and related functions that support patient care, including precise data entry for patient registration and insurance validation. This role requires the ability to exercise sound judgment and communicate effectively with patients, their families, healthcare professionals, insurance providers, and third-party payers. A professional and compassionate demeanor is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the established competencies of the organization, including personal leadership and collaboration with others.
  • Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in delivering exceptional medical services.
  • Perform accurate data entry for patient billing, register patients, and maintain updated patient records.
  • Conduct insurance verification and maintain statistical records.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments, managing phone communications, keeping healthcare providers informed of changes, and educating patients about their benefits.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience of at least one year in a medical office setting.

Certifications:

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) in the state of employment is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
