About the Role

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for maintaining a robust food safety and quality management system. This includes implementing policies and procedures, conducting regular audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement corrective actions and preventative measures to address food safety and quality non-conformities
  • Supervise and train QA technicians to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively
  • Conduct regular documentation and record verification to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Implement cleaning and housekeeping activities, as well as master sanitation schedules, to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Investigate food safety and quality-related incidents, including customer complaints and production personnel reports
  • Develop and implement pest control and microbiological programs to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Conduct internal monthly audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Manage product specifications and labeling compliance to ensure accurate and safe products
  • Develop and maintain company food safety and quality training programs for new hires
  • Conduct regular inspections and operational checks to ensure GMPs are being followed
  • Collect and verify finished product weights to ensure compliance
  • Monitor cooler temperatures to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Verify GMPs are being followed throughout the day
  • Implement maintenance documents and lead customer and third-party audits
  • Respond promptly to customer requests and lead inspections from the agriculture department
  • Responsible for sampling products for the state of agriculture and approving new ingredients and packaging
  • Support product development and launch
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of quality experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably in dairy, with knowledge of FDA regulations and experience with third-party food safety audits
  • Food safety certificates: HACCP, SQF Practitioner, PCQI
  • Maintain a positive work environment and understanding of regulatory guidelines
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
