  • Position Standards
    • We require a high school diploma for this position.
    • A New Hampshire LNA license is mandatory.
    • One year of previous experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential.
    • You must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting.
    • Strong organizational skills are a must.
    • Proficiency in computer skills is required.
    • Excellent customer service skills are expected.
    • BCLS is preferred upon hire, required within 30 days of hire.

    • Functional Responsibility
      • Position Objective
        • As part of the Nursing team, and at the direction of the Registered Nurse, you are integral in supporting patient and unit flow.
      • Performance Expectation
        • You set up rooms for new admission and post-op patients.
        • You perform Accucheck controls when indicated.
        • You make beds and distribute meal trays and maintain a clean environment in patient rooms.
        • You perform vital signs as scheduled on patients, chart on flow sheet and report any changes to the Nursing staff.
        • You provide clean linen as needed and fresh water to patients twice a day, or more often if needed.
        • You provide AM/PM care/bathing as instructed by nursing staff and document the task within Meditech.
        • You record accurate I+O's on patient flow sheets within Meditech on all shifts, empty Foley catheters at the end of the shift and report any changes to the Nursing staff.
        • You assist nursing with wound care as directed.
        • You assist PT/OT with patient transfers and ambulating.
        • You answer patient call lights throughout the day, alerting Nursing Staff of patient needs.
        • You perform Accuchecks on patients as ordered, notifying Nursing of results and charting.
        • You perform other related duties as directed by the Nursing Director Medical Surgical Services.
        • You demonstrate unit-specific competencies regarding lift equipment, use of the electronic scales, HilRom bed functionality, and all patient alarms.
