Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Optometrist to join our team at Elica Health Centers. As an Optometrist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality eye care services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients' eyes to diagnose and treat various eye conditions, including refractive errors, ocular diseases, and other abnormalities.
  • Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and therapeutic procedures to correct or conserve vision.
  • Interpret data from clinical exams, analyze test results, and develop treatment plans.
  • Partner with Operations to train Clinic Staff on screening and other functions.
  • Work collaboratively with other medical providers to see patients with acute or urgent ocular concerns.
  • Educate and counsel patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, and safety factors.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of optometry, Doctor of Optometry degree.
  • Valid Optometry license in good standing in the state of California required.
  • Glaucoma certification is strongly desired.
  • Active BLS training certificate.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience working with underserved, low-income persons or homeless persons preferred.
  • A strong commitment to serve medically underserved families.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and client care skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
