Job Overview
Responsible for providing intermediate to advanced human support services to agency clients addressing personal, social, health, mental health, and economic challenges. Duties include investigating neglect complaints, interviewing clients, assessing needs, developing service plans, managing cases, maintaining records, and preparing reports under limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in various treatment modalities to address family issues and promote stability for children.
* Develop and implement service plans focusing on physical and mental health, housing, and referrals for counseling services.
* Interpret relevant laws, policies, and regulations related to the role.
* Conduct home studies and visits for ongoing cases; provide testimony in court as needed.
* Continuously assess client and family needs to formulate appropriate treatment plans.
* Coordinate placements in daycare centers, foster homes, and adoptive families.
* Make referrals for child protective services as necessary.
* Prepare detailed reports and correspondence; submit required documentation to the state; maintain accurate records.
* Collaborate with other agency services and programs.
* Recruit families for foster care and explore funding opportunities.
* Provide support to women facing unplanned pregnancies, assisting with access to maternity resources.
* Review intervention plans and progress with families and supervisors to ensure goals are met.
* Evaluate parental capabilities in meeting children's physical and emotional needs.
* Facilitate client interviews to determine needs and assist with application processes.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Thorough understanding of departmental policies and procedures; comprehensive knowledge of applicable local, federal, and state laws; familiarity with community resources; proficiency in report preparation and correspondence; adept in using standard office equipment and software (e.g., WIRM, NC ID, NC MUST, NC TRACKS); ability to organize and prioritize tasks; strong analytical and mathematical skills; effective communication skills in both oral and written forms; ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners.

Physical Requirements
This position may require occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; regular communication and interaction with clients; frequent repetitive motions; and occasional standing, walking, sitting, and reaching. Vision and hearing capabilities are essential for this role.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field, along with moderate experience in social work within a community setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements
Completion of required certification and training as determined by the County is mandatory. A valid driver's license is also required.
