AVID Tutor

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to serve as an AVID Tutor. This part-time, non-benefited position is ideal for a UND student looking to gain experience and develop their skills in academic support and leadership.

• Attend a 2-hour training in AVID methodologies to gain a deeper understanding of the program's principles and best practices.
• Provide academic support to students, helping them to succeed in their coursework and achieve their academic goals.
• Lead subject-specific tutorial groups, fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
• Act as a role model for AVID students, demonstrating the values and behaviors expected of a successful student leader.
• Assist in the organization and participation of functions and activities, helping to build a sense of community and school spirit.
• Advocate for AVID among college peers, promoting the program's benefits and encouraging others to get involved.

• Candidate is responsible for their own transportation to off-campus locations.
• Must have accepted a Federal Work Study award from the Office of Student Finance.
• Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits for the employed academic semester.
• 2.5 GPA.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.
• Valid Driver's License.
