Position Overview:
As a Flexible Cardiac Registered Nurse, you will engage in both independent and collaborative efforts to deliver exceptional care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting cardiac stress assessments alongside other qualified healthcare professionals, adhering to established protocols within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Administer various cardiac stress tests, including Echo Stress Treadmill, Stress Echo with Contrast, and Routine Treadmill Stress Tests.
  • Utilize your specialized knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive patient care, supervision, evaluation, and education.
  • Act as a vital resource within the Cardiac Stress Lab, leveraging your extensive experience to address complex patient care challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical staff to manage both pre-emergent and emergent patient care situations, including the timely termination of stress tests when necessary.

Work Schedule:
This is a part-time position with a commitment of 50% per diem, with the potential for conversion to a full-time role.

Compensation:
Hourly rate: $87.47

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • An active California RN License
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an acute care setting, including at least six months in cardiology
  • Proficiency in delivering patient care that meets all diagnostic protocols
  • Strong communication skills to relay critical information to physicians
  • The ability to handle heavy equipment for portable studies
  • Knowledge of infection control practices related to equipment use
  • Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Syngo)
  • Capability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing patient care assignments
  • Teamwork skills to guide and support fellow team members
  • Understanding of the consent process and the ability to supervise cardiac stress testing in the absence of a physician
  • Skills to initiate and direct interventions in accordance with ACLS guidelines for various emergency situations
  • Competence in recognizing high-risk patients and alerting supervising physicians
  • Knowledge of exercise testing indications and contraindications
  • Expertise in recognizing and managing complications during exercise testing
  • Familiarity with cardiovascular drugs and their effects on exercise performance
