About the Role
The Lawyer will provide legal support to the Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) by delivering quality legal services. This includes providing legal advice and guidance to departmental program staff and leadership, as well as representing DPHHS in various legal matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal analysis and advice to DPHHS program staff and leadership
- Represent DPHHS in legal proceedings and administrative reviews
- Develop and implement legal strategies to support DPHHS programs
- Stay up-to-date with changes in healthcare law and relevant areas of law
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate (J.D) from an accredited law school
- Three years of legal experience
- Admission to practice law in Montana, or admission within one year from the date of hire
- Knowledge of healthcare law or areas of law relevant to DPHHS programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of administrative review procedures and judicial review procedures
- Knowledge of the legislative process
