Senior Procurement Specialist

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Specialist to oversee the procurement process for high-value and complex goods and services.

About the Role:

The Senior Procurement Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Procurement Planning: Develop and execute procurement strategies for key categories of goods and services, analyzing market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost drivers to inform procurement decisions.
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance, negotiating contracts and terms to achieve the best value for the organization.
  • Procurement Process Management: Lead the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations, and monitoring and managing procurement KPIs to ensure targets are met.
  • Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations, monitoring and reporting on procurement expenditures, and implementing cost-control measures to optimize procurement spend.
  • Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with the procurement process and supplier relationships, developing contingency plans for supply chain disruptions and other procurement-related risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, staying updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in procurement and supply chain management, and mentoring and providing guidance to junior procurement staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, with a master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, with knowledge of procurement best practices, laws, and regulations.
