Job Summary

Vets Hired is seeking a highly skilled Information Systems Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining security policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Policy Development: Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, RMF, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
  • Security Compliance: Oversee the security of information systems and ensure compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements.
  • System Accreditation: Manage and deliver system accreditation packages and ensure the effectiveness of security controls through regular audits.
  • Project Management: Perform various ad hoc Project Management Office (PMO) related activities, including preparing, reviewing, updating, revising, and maintaining project timelines, risk assessments, technical documents, deliverables, and other program-related documents.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of security policies, procedures, and controls, as well as experience with risk assessment and mitigation. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
