JE Dunn Construction is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead our mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of the company's safety culture and create awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Manage the JE Dunn prestart checklist form and support the preconstruction team in quantity takeoff, trade coordination, and scope of work development.
  • Lead the plan and implementation of buyout schedules, verify pricing and scope, and manage the issuance of subcontracts.
  • Manage the submittal schedule setup, coordinate priorities with the team, and review and approve all shop drawings and samples prior to submittal to architects or engineers.
  • Ensure approved submittals are returned to subcontractors and available to the project team per the project schedule and the contract.
  • Coordinate with Logistics to obtain pricing on materials and equipment and confer with risk management to ensure approval and/or bonding requirements for subcontractors.
  • Coordinate the various stakeholders of the project, including subcontractors, owners, field, design teams, vendors, and others.
  • Disseminate change requests to subcontractors for pricing and schedule input, gather and evaluate subcontractor pricing to confirm accuracy, and prepare, submit, and obtain owner/architect approval for change requests.
  • Lead various meetings, including monthly project reviews, progress meetings, and OAC (Owner Architect) meetings, and complete monthly subcontractor and owner pay application processes.
  • Prepare project schedules with the Project Superintendent, gather input from the project team, and utilize Lean principles as appropriate.
  • Identify potential schedule impacts, including scope, weather, manpower, and changes, and facilitate mitigation plans for these impacts.
  • Provide written documentation for decisions affecting various aspects of the project, including budget, schedule, legal, quality, and/or safety, and employ current best practices for documentation requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis to the project team to communicate overall project status and profitability.
  • Prepare monthly cost and margin forecasts with input from the superintendent and review with the project team, participate in the development of the project budget, and regularly review costs relative to the budget and highlight discrepancies to enable improved financial performance.
  • Lead the overall project closeout process using best practice standards, tools, and processes, including the close-out punch list, financials, subcontracts, warranties, and others.
  • Interface with region/company legal counsel as appropriate.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in all aspects of the project-specific safety plan and create a culture of safety awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Understand the preconstruction process from conceptual phase through GMP development.
  • Complete estimating and productivity analysis.
  • Lead or provide support to senior management for preconstruction discussions with clients.
  • Oversee project teams during the development of preconstruction estimates.
  • Identify, understand, and actively manage project risks.
  • Assist with the development and management of the project business plan to maximize financial success.
  • Implement and manage components of the operation and administration of complex and/or multiple construction projects.
  • Utilize awareness, experience, and knowledge to identify problems and recommend solutions for review and implementation by the team.
  • Manage deliverables provided by various internal resources and functions, including IPS, logistics, self-perform, and others.
  • Engage in business, industry, and community activities to build and strengthen external relationships.
  • Review and approve expense reports.
  • Negotiate project issues, including change orders, contingency expenditures, and appropriate fee enhancements.
  • Complete scope review and bid analysis, including the award of subcontracts.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on related presentations and marketing activities.
  • Lead, support, and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn, understanding the company's policy of non-discrimination and ensuring positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of construction management experience.

Working Environment:

  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • May require periods of travel and/or relocation.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.
  • May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
  • Assignment location may include project sites and/or in the office.
  • Frequent activity: Sitting, viewing computer screens.
  • Occasional activity: Standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling.
