West Sound Workforce is seeking an experienced Subcontract Coordinator to join a Kitsap based federal contractor who specializes in the design and construction of auxiliary and support ships for the US Navy.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the essential duty of the Subcontract Coordinator is to solicit, negotiate, award and administer subcontracts for goods and services pursuant to requirements of prime government contracts.
Responsibilities include assisting in planning and coordinating facility surveys to determine Subcontractor's ability to perform repair work, validating requisitions against contract and project specifications, analyzing agreements, performing price analysis, and ensuring procurement of acceptable Subcontractor services at the best value including timely delivery in support of schedule.
Reliability and professional demeanor are critical.
Shift Information:
Monday-Friday 7am-3pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of semi complex, high-dollar subcontractor services and materials
- Assist in planning and coordinating facility surveys, obtain reviews, and approvals
- Validate subcontracts and rental requisitions against contract and project specifications
- Perform price analysis and negotiation of subcontractor and leasing proposals
Requirements:
- A BA/BS in a related field, or AA/AS plus 2 years directly related experience, or 6 years directly related experience
- Knowledge of ship repair, overhaul and modernization processes and procedures is preferred
- Computer proficiency with MS Office products, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiar with estimating, contractual methods, and processes in a government environment
