Overview:


Under the guidance of the Project Administrator, the Senior Construction Quality Inspector is responsible for preparing and verifying engineering calculations, overseeing construction activities, conducting field material sampling and testing, and coordinating the efforts of junior inspectors.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and manage junior inspectors and verification testing efforts.

2. Conduct daily inspections on multiple complex and diverse projects to ensure compliance with project specifications, plans, and contractual obligations.

3. Monitor on-site construction activities; generate daily and weekly reports detailing contractor progress and review periodic payment estimates for accuracy while tracking completed work quantities.

4. Create sketches and compile data for the Project Administrator to facilitate project modifications.

5. Perform field inspections of contractor operations to ensure adherence to contract documents; prepare detailed inspection reports.

6. Utilize Site Manager software to prepare Daily Reports and any other required documentation.

7. Conduct field sampling and testing of materials and completed work in accordance with the construction contract and client specifications.

8. Inspect traffic control devices and report any deficiencies to maintain compliance with established standards.

9. Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of daily operations and significant occurrences.

10. Contribute to the development of job safety practices and observe general safety protocols on-site.

11. Monitor and inspect Work Zone Traffic Control in accordance with client requirements.

12. Availability for daytime, nighttime, and weekend shifts as necessary.

13. Comply with company marketing standards by providing timely updates to resumes and participating in marketing initiatives.

14. Ensure prompt completion of time sheets and expense reports.

15. Take initiative in personal career development by seeking feedback, pursuing opportunities for skill enhancement, and setting personal goals.

Competencies:
- Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

- Ability to read, interpret, and explain construction plans, contract provisions, specifications, and inspection procedures.

- High level of technical expertise; capable of addressing complex and novel issues.

- Maintain a positive attitude and collaborative approach.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, including two (2) years in bridge and/or roadway inspection, or a Civil Engineering degree with one (1) year of relevant experience.

- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

- Must possess or be able to obtain within one year various certifications as required by job assignments.

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited institution may substitute for experience.

- EIT License.
