C&C Lift Truck, Inc. is a leading forklift dealership seeking a highly skilled Service Writer to join our team. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of customer repair quotes, ensuring seamless communication with customers, and coordinating daily schedules for our technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quote Management: Create and manage customer repair quotes, including requesting parts pricing, determining labor time, and writing quotes.
  • Customer Communication: Interface with customers on quoted repairs, answer questions, and provide updates on expected service dates and ETAs.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of customer repairs awaiting approval and follow up with customers who have not signed off on quoted repairs.
  • Service Coordination: Manage assigned technicians to ensure effective completion of day-to-day service operations, coordinate schedules to align customer account needs and technician capabilities, and open work orders in a timely fashion.
  • Special Billing Procedures: Follow all special billing procedures for major accounts, including verifying correct POs, work acceptance through customer portals, and amounts matching approved work.
  • Job Progress Management: Monitor job progress, ensuring field technicians diagnose problems within two hours of arrival at customer locations and make recommendations for technicians to utilize technical communicators in troubleshooting complex issues.
  • Technician Support: Work with technicians to resolve problems, making every effort to ensure each job assigned is fully completed.
  • Account Management: Establish regular communication with account managers to resolve any ongoing issues with customers' accounts.
  • Parts and Labor Management: Work closely with the Parts Department to acquire correct parts and pricing and attach correct labor time to each repair.
  • Scheduling and Time Management: Schedule monthly preventive maintenance work to ensure PM completion rate goals are met, monitor technicians' timecards, and maintain accurate records for customer invoicing.
  • Quality Control: Ensure technicians follow all work order procedures, keeping accurate time and parts on job, filling out PM checklists, obtaining customer signatures, closing out day, and completing jobs.
  • Job Closure: Approve, code, and process jobs to ensure labor and parts detail are complete and accurate, review parts and labor captured on jobs, and ensure jobs are closed out with accurate information in the system.
  • Professionalism: Maintain professionalism on the job.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling and Promotion: Schedule service vehicle repairs and PMs, coordinating with technicians, and regularly promote and sell service products to customers, generating increased revenue.
  • Quote Production: Produce both verbal and written quotes of repairs to be completed.
  • Job Review and Billing: Review completed jobs, edit descriptions, hours, etc., and bill work orders.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties of a similar nature as required.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years' experience in a shop or service environment.
  • Geographic Knowledge: Geographic understanding of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania is a must.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize demands, and execute tasks; strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent customer service skills; keen attention to detail; reliability, and punctuality.
  • Driver's License: Valid Driver's License.
