Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Supervisor to join our team at UNFI. As a key member of our Distribution team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Transportation Department, ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods across the United States and Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily scheduling of drivers and staff members to optimize workforce effectiveness
  • Monitor driver departure times and report any issues
  • Share on-call duty with members of the Transportation Department
  • Coordinate customer deliveries and notify customers of any delays or accidents
  • Assist in determining rental requirements and equipment needs
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries from customers, warehouse staff, and drivers
  • Act as a backup for the Transportation Manager and complete log data entry as needed
  • Summarize and publish results of quality checks and on-time reporting
  • Work with leasing companies to ensure proper maintenance schedules of trucks
  • Communicate effectively with various departments regarding schedule changes and new account services
Requirements
  • College degree preferred or equivalent related experience
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, Word, and Access
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
