DEPARTMENT: Medical Surgical Unit
WORK SCHEDULE: 7.5-hour day shift
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensure/Certification Required: New York State Nurse Aide Certification
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum Requirements: Current, unrestricted New York State nurse aide certification or proof of successful completion of a Nursing 101 course from an accredited nursing program, with a minimum grade of B. BLS certification is required within three months of employment. Nurse aides must remain enrolled in a nursing program while employed unless certified. If a nurse aide discontinues their nursing education before graduation, they must obtain certification to continue employment. A six-month timeframe is allowed for certification, after which employment eligibility will be reassessed.
- Deliver and document comprehensive, patient-centered care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Provide exemplary customer service to patients and their families.
- Communicate patient conditions directly to licensed nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and their families.

Medium Work - Involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
For specific care programs, refer to departmental requirements for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education obligations.

SALARY RANGE:
$27.16
The stated base pay range is a good faith representation of potential base pay for a successful full-time candidate. It may be adjusted in the future and is eligible for additional pay components. Compensation is determined by factors such as experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contractual agreements.
