As a Critical Care Registered Nurse at MetaSense Inc, you will employ the nursing process to deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity environment. You will be responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating comprehensive care for your assigned patients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assess the immediate and ongoing care requirements of patients and their significant others.
2. Formulate detailed and current care plans that encompass physical, educational, and discharge planning needs, along with psychosocial and spiritual considerations.
3. Deliver direct patient care in accordance with assessed needs and established medical protocols, while overseeing the care provided by other nursing staff as per their scope of practice.
4. Monitor, document, and communicate the patient's response to illness and treatment to relevant team members, ensuring timely reassessment of their condition.
5. Coordinate the overall care plan to guarantee the execution of nursing interventions aligned with medical directives.
(a) Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to prioritize care and initiate follow-ups as necessary to ensure timely patient care delivery.
(b) Ensure that care plans are tailored to meet age-specific needs as defined by the unit's scope of care.
6. Accept accountability for nursing interventions and outcomes based on clinical judgment.
7. Engage in quality improvement initiatives related to patient care and contribute to the development of nursing and hospital standards.
8. Exhibit effective communication skills, manage high-pressure situations adeptly, and foster collaborative relationships with other healthcare professionals.
Additional Duties:
1. Participate in the orientation and training of new nursing staff.
2. Assume charge responsibilities as designated by the Nurse/Manager.
3. Ensure adequate patient coverage by assisting colleagues and providing support across various units as needed.
4. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
5. Serve as a clinical resource for nursing students.
6. Participate in meetings, committees, and educational programs.
7. Engage in research and pilot projects endorsed by the Nursing Department.
8. Commit to ongoing professional development and education, including attending staff development sessions and pursuing advanced degrees or certifications.
9. Involve yourself in relevant professional and community organizations.
Experience Required:
3-5 years of experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Licenses and Certifications (must be current):
TCAR, BLS, ACLS, PALS, AHA Stroke Certification. Preferred: CRRT, CCRN, TCRN.
