CRH is seeking a skilled Mill/Screed Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating the pug mill efficiently and effectively to maximize production while maintaining a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate the Pug Mill: Safely and efficiently operate the pug mill to produce high-quality materials.
- Communicate with Plant Manager: Communicate with the Plant Manager to plan and coordinate production, including materials to be shipped or received and amounts.
- Load Trucks: Load trucks with assigned materials, ensuring accurate and efficient loading.
- Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including front-end loaders and skid loaders.
- Ensure Quality Standards: Work with the Quality Control Department to ensure quality standards are maintained on materials.
- Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Ensure a safe work environment for yourself and coworkers, following all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
- Perform Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance of the plant, including cleaning and reporting any major maintenance problems to the supervisor.
- Train and Develop Team Members: Assist in training less-experienced employees on the proper operations, servicing, and repair of the plant.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Experience: 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Physical Demands: Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
- Work Environment: Able to work in all weather conditions, extended hours if needed, and in a fast-paced production environment.
