Job Summary

Institute for Community Living (ICL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing life-saving care to New Yorkers in need. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Expeditor Assistant to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of building violations, permits, and correspondence. They will also prepare reports and documentation for violation notices and enforcement actions, as well as assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for clients and project teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building codes and regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and will be proficient in various software programs, including MS Excel, MS Word, and Work Speed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records of building violations, permits, and correspondence
  • Prepare reports and documentation for violation notices and enforcement actions
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for clients and project teams
  • Prepare and submit permit applications and other documentation to regulatory agencies
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops on building codes and compliance procedures

Requirements:

  • 2 years min. of building compliance, expediting, or related field exp.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification or completion thereof within 90 days of hire
  • Completion of the Filing Representative Course (FRC) within 90 days of employment
  • Valid Driver's License State ID – NY, NJ, CT, or PA State preferred but not mandatory
