Key Responsibilities:
The Investigator will undertake various investigative duties, adhering to operational guidelines while reviewing collected information, interviewing acquaintances, and gathering pertinent documents from law enforcement and credit agencies. The Investigator will then compile a comprehensive summary of findings for our federal government clients.
The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Executing background investigations to assess the employment suitability of individuals requiring access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.
- Majority of casework will support the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), with additional assignments based on performance and business requirements.
- Conducting in-person interviews with subjects, their neighbors, employers, friends, and family.
- Performing record searches at police departments, courthouses, educational institutions, and medical/mental health facilities.
- Documenting all gathered information in a clear and concise report using an authorized government computer system.
- Completing other assigned duties as necessary.
- Local and occasional travel outside the primary work area is required, comprising approximately 15-20% of the work week.
- Participating in Temporary Duty Assignments several times annually, which may vary in duration.
Essential Qualifications:
- Recent field investigation experience conducting DCSA/NBIB background investigations within the last 18 months.
- Consideration for candidates with four years of general work experience or a bachelor's degree.
- Possession of an active favorable TS clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Upholding a high standard of confidentiality, ethics, and integrity.
- Proven metrics in quality, timeliness, and productivity.
- Intermediate typing skills (40+ WPM recommended) and computer proficiency.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone, with strong transcription skills for words and numbers.
- Capable of maintaining focus and attention to detail while performing tasks.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential; public transportation may be utilized when feasible.
- Required to maintain adequate motor vehicle insurance, which may be subject to change.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Skill in interacting professionally and effectively with diverse individuals.
- Aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional organizational, scheduling, and prioritization abilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
