Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to support our teaching staff in designing and implementing high-quality physical therapy programs for students. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program and a State and National License as a Physical Therapist. They will ensure the quality of physical therapy programs by working closely with teachers to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual students' needs.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Treatment Planning:

    • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with teachers and other healthcare professionals.
    • Collaborate with teachers to identify and address students' physical therapy needs.
    • Provide teachers with consultation and support to ensure effective implementation of physical therapy programs.



  • Training and Education:

    • Provide training and education to teachers on physical therapy techniques and best practices.
    • Collaborate with the Allied Health team to address student issues and provide interdisciplinary support.
    • Assist in reviewing quarterly progress notes and providing feedback to teachers.
    • Observe classrooms and provide feedback to teachers on physical therapy practices.



  • Confidentiality and Ethics:

    • Maintain confidentiality of students' and families' information.
    • Employ restrictive procedures only as specified in treatment plans.
    • FOLLOW ethical standards of the program.




Additional Requirements:

  • Respond to special requests from supervisors.
  • Comply with The May Institute's policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings as required.
  • Maintain all continuing education requirements as outlined by state and national licensure requirements.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in an accurate and timely manner.


Essential Physical Requirements: The ability to move independently throughout a wide range of environments is required. Independent transportation to locations that may not be served by public transportation may be necessary.
