Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Designing and implementing extensive culinary training programs that reflect the restaurant's culinary vision and objectives.
  • Creating educational materials, guides, and resources for both new hires and ongoing training.
  • Delivering thorough onboarding programs for new culinary staff, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge.
  • Conducting hands-on training during New Store Openings.
  • Ensuring that Regional Managers, Store Management, and company trainers are proficient in specific restaurant openings and training methodologies.
  • Reviewing training materials to guarantee alignment with standard operating procedures and the evolving needs of new restaurants.
  • Collaborating with the Executive Chef to develop innovative menu offerings.
  • Managing the recipe database, inventory tracking, and cost analysis.
  • Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive food safety program, including protocols for food handling, storage, and preparation, to ensure adherence to industry regulations.
  • Facilitating continuous professional development opportunities for kitchen personnel, including workshops and mentorship programs.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and culinary advancements, incorporating relevant updates into training programs.
  • Maintaining open communication with kitchen staff to address issues, provide feedback, and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Encouraging a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement within the culinary team.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in back-of-house food service operations.
  • Familiarity with food safety organizations such as Everclean or Steritech.
  • Servsafe Food Safety Manager certification preferred, with experience as a Servsafe Proctor and Instructor.
  • Previous experience in managing training programs within a restaurant setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in developing training materials and video content.
  • Willingness to travel frequently with flexible working hours.
  • Anticipated travel time: approximately 50% of the month, including out-of-state travel.
