Job Opportunity: High-Precision Machining Specialist

The primary function of this position is to set-up, verify, and operate CNC lathes to machine complex parts to customer requirements. This role requires strong expertise in CNC programming codes, complex blueprints, and mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities:

  • Set-up of CNC lathes, including calibration of cutting tools and location of work offsets for part production.
  • Verification of CNC programs and operation of lathes.
  • Completion of all applicable paperwork, adhering to ISO 9000 standards.
  • Performance of dimensional and visual inspections for first piece and in-process manufacturing.
  • Cleanliness of the work area and proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent damage or loss.
  • Assistance in training other machinists or supervising machine operators.
  • Related detail work, including de-burring, modification, re-work, and assembly as needed.
  • May require training in hazardous material handling depending on job assignment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years CNC job shop experience.
  • Ability to work to close tolerances in a high-volume environment.
  • Proficiency with complicated blueprints and advanced job shop mathematical calculations.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming codes and ability to perform complex set-ups for prototype and production runs.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with cutting tool feeds and speeds.
  • Understanding of true position tolerancing and Cartesian coordinate systems.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Estimated salary range: $28-$38 per hour, depending on experience.
