Computer Systems Specialist

Covenant College seeks a highly skilled Computer Technician to join its Information Technology team. This role is responsible for installing, repairing, maintaining, inventorying, and upgrading hardware and software used by employees and students throughout the campus.
Responsibilities
- Installation and Repair: Install, repair, and upgrade hardware and software as required on all systems, following established procedures and guidelines.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students in the use of standard College software on both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
- Evaluation and Recommendation: Evaluate current and new hardware and software, making periodic recommendations to the Chief Information Officer.
- Inventories and Planning: Maintain an inventory of all client-issued computers and mobile devices, working with the Chief Information Officer to plan the periodic replenishment of all hardware.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree: A bachelor's degree or targeted associate degree in a related field, such as computer science or information technology.
- Experience: Two years of experience in a related activity, with a strong understanding of computer environments, including Windows and Apple OS.
- Skills: Working knowledge of TCP/IP, including DNS and DHCP, and the ability to work without close supervision.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and procedures clearly and effectively to a wide range of non-technical personnel.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000. Covenant College offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement plan.
