Job Description

Sheet Metal Structural Assembler II - Malibu Wings - 1st Shift (Full Time)

Department: All Openings

As a key member of our production team, the Sheet Metal Structural Assembler II will assist the Supervisor in the production of high-quality aircraft parts and assemblies. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assembly of complex fuselage sections, wing sections, and control surfaces
  • Perform critical drilling, reaming, fitting, and trimming with minimal quality defects
  • Interact with team members, vendors, and equipment suppliers as needed
  • Rework major discrepancies and perform Material Review Board repairs
  • Provide assistance during new product development, design, build, and testing
  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective action of nonconforming material
  • Improve departmental performance through cost savings activities and process improvements
  • Train and mentor teammates to perform necessary job functions
  • Adhere to all departmental compliance requirements, including Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD, and Tool Control

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Related sheet metal assembly experience requirements:
    • Sheet Metal Structural Assembler I: 3 years of experience preferred
    • Sheet Metal Structural Assembler II: 3-5 years of experience; or *
    • Senior Sheet Metal Structural Assembler: 5 years of experience; or *

Physical Demands:

Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate job-specific equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

Mental Demands:

Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions need to be controlled.

Working Conditions:

Works primarily inside and may occasionally work outdoors. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity.
