About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our Oil and Gas & Chemical team in the Houston office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing process equipment, including pressure and non-pressure vessels, tanks, storage tanks, exchangers, towers, and internals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical equipment, including conceptual studies, detailed design, field installation, and construction support in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries.
  • Prepare mechanical equipment calculations, specifications, data sheets, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, RFQs, and technical bid evaluations.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
  • Review mechanical equipment vendor drawings and data, and participate in the development of P&IDs and project schedules.
  • Prepare construction specifications and installation scopes of work for mechanical equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in the chemical, refining, and chemical energy industry.
  • EPC experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Solid CAD design skills with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency with Navisworks.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including mechanics of materials, welding, heat transfer, and process and instrumentation diagrams.
