Job Description:

This per diem Psych APRN position would interact with the Medical Director and treatment team by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of patient care.

The ideal candidate will assist in providing for the development and evaluation of nursing unit personnel and maintains the optimal medical aspects of the patient care unit.

Responsibilities:

  1. Initiating and completing initial evaluations: psychiatric evaluation and/or history and physical evaluation
  2. Collaborates with the medical staff to provide medical and nursing care
  3. Documents patient progress/regress according to established policies and procedures
  4. Assessing patient's need to see a medical doctor weekly
  5. Providing primary care and medical treatment
  6. Supervising and instructing patients in medication self-administration and health education as needed
  7. Reviewing lab results and providing treatment or referral as needed
  8. Initiate, monitor and manage therapies including pharmacotherapy per protocol as approved by the Medical Director
  9. Evaluate behavioral problems and diagnosis, and make treatment recommendations
  10. Ordering consults for other medical specialties as needed
  11. Providing Medical Director with findings of case reviews and a detailed consult report stating the exact nature of the consult request
  12. Has oversight of infection control and ensure proper procedures and policies are followed
  13. Assists in evaluating patient care daily by assessing patients and reviewing nursing documentation
  14. Providing utilization review with the detailed information needed for the appropriate level of care of the patient
  15. Communicating with family and health professionals concerning the care of patients
  16. Assists in reporting infection control incidents to Performance Team and Risk Management

Requirements:

An ideal candidate should be licensed to practice as a Psych ARNP in the state of Florida, have a Master's degree in Nursing with clinical training in a healthcare specialty area, and 2-5 years of medical or psychiatric experience as an APRN.

Salary $120,000 - $180,000 annually.
