HVAC Technician

Kauai Mechanical Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HVAC Technician to join their team. As an Entry-level HVAC Technician, you will assist in performing preventative maintenance, minor troubleshooting, and basic repairs of various HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration systems.

• Assist in performing preventative maintenance tasks, including changing or washing filters, flushing/cleaning drain lines, and inspecting belts, pumps, motors, compressors, and electrical/control panels.
• Support installation crews with the installation of various HVAC systems, including building controls and sheet metal fabrication and installation.
• Engage in on-the-job training initiatives and demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Identify potential equipment issues and report them to customers and department managers.
• Communicate effectively with customers and office staff, acting as a liaison between the two.
• Support service technicians with minor repairs and troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site, leaving it cleaner than it was found.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work vehicle.
• Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate with various personality types.
• Attention to detail and ability to complete work to a deadline.
• Motivated to learn and develop skills in HVAC and Commercial Refrigeration systems.
• Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple issues.
• Good communication skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Previous HVAC or mechanical experience a plus, but not required.
• Universal EPA certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
