Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide temporary coverage for the overall implementation, delivery, and coordination of resident clinical services at the community.
  • Team Management: Directly supervise all team members of the nursing department, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating their performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with state regulations governing Assisted Living, including regular review of regulations and implementation of necessary changes.
  • Medication Management: Provide oversight to ensure accurate and timely medication administration, working with consultant pharmacists as needed.
  • Charting and Documentation: Ensure all charting is performed in a timely manner and in accordance with state regulations.
  • Communication: Provide timely and honest communication with families, promoting good relationships and keeping them informed about resident conditions and community events.
  • Marketing Support: Participate in tours and discussions with potential residents and their families about clinical needs.
  • Assessment and Eligibility: Conduct assessments for potential residents to determine their eligibility for Assisted Living.
  • Team Development: Create positive team member relations through staff appreciation programs, recognition of excellent performance, and retention through regular feedback systems and promotional incentive programs.
  • On-Call Support: Provide on-call backup to the community when not on duty, maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information.
Requirements:
  • Licensure: Currently licensed as a RN with a minimum of 1-year experience in senior housing and/or geriatric nursing.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Director of Nursing or Wellness Director with a demonstrated success in leading nursing teams to meet successful resident outcomes.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to various communities within the assigned market.
  • Certifications: Candidate must be certified or be able to become CPR and First Aid Certified within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Language: Ability to read, write, and speak the English language and communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and team members.
