Job Summary

The Warehouse Lead is a critical role within the Horizon Global team, responsible for overseeing the efficient organization and management of warehouse operations. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively coordinate with managers to disperse work to pickers, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort orders after each print run and work with the team to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Create Bills of Lading for each truck order and coordinate shipments with management to ensure seamless logistics.
  • Facilitate best practices in the Shipping and Receiving Offices, promoting a culture of efficiency and productivity.
  • Act as a liaison between the Horizon Global carrier base and the Irving Distribution Center, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Coordinate all transportation requirements with management, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Communicate and support the Customer Service Department, providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Pick, pack, and palletize small orders, maintaining accurate paperwork and documentation.
  • Stage product by truckload in the appropriate staging area, ensuring efficient loading and unloading of goods.
  • Complete required paperwork to coordinate for data processing, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Unload carriers by hand or forklift, wrapping pallets and attaching shipping labels as needed.
  • Maintain the manifest and complete the Bill of Lading, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Ability to organize and load products into a trailer according to warehouse specifications, ensuring efficient and safe loading practices.
  • Ability to lead a team of 2 to 10 associates, providing guidance and support to ensure successful team performance.
  • Regularly bring up completed documents to order central, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned by management, including but not limited to, maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Accuracy in paperwork and working with numbers, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and with minimal supervision, with a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Safety conscious, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to complete and prioritize multi-tasks in a timely manner, with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, and external customers.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in using scales and stretch wrap machines.
  • Forklift certified or the ability to be certified, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Physical Demands

  • Required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear, with the ability to lift and move objects as needed.
  • Operate forklift equipment and perform physical lifting/lowering, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Required to use computer, possess visual acuity essential to examine and prepare documents, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Be able to perform job duties in both an office and a warehouse environment, with a strong ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
