Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at FDIHB. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate as a member of the healthcare team and respond to emergencies in an appropriate manner.
  • Provide basic care to assigned patients under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Obtain and record patient information in the patient's medical record.
  • Assist healthcare providers in examination of patients and assist with sterile procedures.
  • Assist in screening and discharging patients, and assist in post-mortem care.
  • Share in the responsibility of maintenance of clinical records and adhere to confidentiality policies.
  • Assist with collection and proper care of specimens, and instruct patients in proper collection of urine samples.
  • Perform procedures such as venipuncture, waived testing, and maintenance of a sterile urinary drainage system.
  • Set up for oxygen administration devices and equipment, and perform less complex dressings and treatments.
  • Transcribe physician's orders correctly under the supervision of a professional nurse.
  • Utilize electronic data systems for purposes of scheduling appointments and communicating with other departments and services.
Requirements
  • One (1) year of direct work experience as a Nursing Assistant in a hospital, clinic, or medical office setting.
  • Completion of a Nursing Assistant Training Program or valid and unrestricted Credential as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Registered Nursing Assistant, or Licensed Nursing Assistant.
  • Valid American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and maintain certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrolled member of the Navajo Nation or other federally recognized Indian tribe.
