We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to serve as a Clinical Procedural Coordinator in our esteemed healthcare organization. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting procedural area scheduling systems, ensuring seamless coordination of surgical procedures and optimal use of resources.
Key Responsibilities- Enter and update scheduling data, monitor, and verify clinical information to confirm and publish final procedural area schedules.
- Collaborate with physicians' offices, procedural area leadership, and physicians to make adjustments to the procedural area schedule and communicate changes as necessary.
- Provide weekly and daily clinical review of the surgical schedule to ensure procedures are posted correctly, including case accuracy, equipment availability, and procedural area/operating room assignments.
- Review case posting for accuracy based on clinical notes and communication with providers.
- Post add-on cases and emergency cases to the scheduling system as required, and review the add-on list to efficiently eliminate free space and downtime within procedural areas/operating rooms.
- A graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and/or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in an acute care hospital operating room as a circulating RN is required to acquire broad-base knowledge of operating room procedures, case accuracy, and operating room schedules.
- Must be able to utilize and display critical thinking skills, independent thinking.
- Must be able to accurately and professionally communicate with the medical staff, nursing staff, patients, and their family members.
- CNOR preferred.
- At least three years of experience in an academic medical center and/or trauma center preferred.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, including the ability to work on several critical projects simultaneously.
- Strong proficiency in computer technology and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
