Job Summary:
The Lawton Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified High School Counselor to join our team. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between parents and school personnel, providing guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as a liaison between parents and school personnel
• Provide guidance and support to students in their academic and personal development
• Facilitate course and subject selection in relation to student ability and academic achievement
• Enroll students in courses that align with their interests and abilities
• Develop and implement strategies to support student success
• Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to provide a comprehensive support system for students
• Maintain accurate records and reports of student progress and achievement
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in school counseling
Requirements:
• Hold a valid Oklahoma Secondary Counselors certificate
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Working Conditions:
The High School Counselor will work in a fast-paced environment, providing support to students and staff in a dynamic and ever-changing educational setting.
