About the Role

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist Level II to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, fluoroscopy, and other specialized exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Radiologic Procedures: Proficiently perform basic to advanced radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, fluoroscopy, and other specialized exams.
  • Communicate with Patients: Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm patient understanding.
  • Position Patients and Select Exposure Factors: Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Process and Label Images: Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and process images to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists: Assist, communicate, and consult with radiologists to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective patient care.
  • Maintain Records and Documents: Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Provide Education and Support: Serve as a technical resource, role model, and preceptor for students and staff, and facilitate clinical problem-solving and collaboration with other departments.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin, Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Education: Advanced training beyond high school that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Experience: Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Radiologic Technologist role.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in radiology positioning and techniques, aseptic techniques, and C-arm; advanced knowledge of radiation safety and radiology equipment; knowledge of specialty physician protocols and ability to work effectively with diverse providers.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Working Conditions: May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
