Job Title: Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Innova Recovery Center. As a key member of our residential treatment center, you will play a vital role in delivering quality care to clients and ensuring their overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver quality care to clients within a residential setting
- Provide supervision of clients while on shift
- Encourage clients with activities of daily living (ADL)
- Work cooperatively with team members, clinicians, and team leads to have knowledge of client treatment plans
- Ability to lead various mental health groups with clients, ensuring to follow specific curriculum
- Be available in times of crisis or intense situations
- Empathetic individuals who can maintain loving but firm boundaries
- Assist with meal prep, meal serving, and kitchen clean up
- Inventory items for new clients and record on inventory sheet
- All shifts attend to laundry and general house cleaning responsibilities
- All shifts are responsible for cleaning common areas throughout the day
- Provide a safe environment by securing restricted areas and doors
- Account for all clients on daily census sheet
- Assure client admission runs smoothly and efficiently, assisting with inventorying new clients and itemization, and medication reconciliation
- Obtain patient medical history, vital signs, and ensure that all admission information and admission process is completed and documented in EMR
- Manage and ensure proper client encounters of a clinical nature are documented in EMR system
- Process prescriptions and orders as the physician directs in an accurate and timely manner, obtaining consent for new medication or changes to current medication directed by the physician
- Assist with prescription needs and refills, notifying physicians of any potential complications identified
- Assist nurse with oversight of medication administration program, duties include but are not limited to preparing/passing medication, keeping medication room neat/orderly, communicating to appropriate staff when additional medication is needed, overseeing drug destruction process, keeping accurate medication records (medication errors - if applicable), uploading new medication orders/changes for clients in E.M.R., ensuring accurate E.M.A.R.'s, overseeing drug destruction process
- Collaborate with attending physician to ensure clients receive psychiatric support services upon admission and as needed throughout their recovery process
- Assist with infection control program, tracking infections and providing a monthly infection control log to the Director of Operations
- Provide first aid to clients as needed, provide vital checks to clients as needed
- Any other duties as assigned

Requirements:

- Graduate of accredited medical assisting or certified nursing assisting program or Certified Nursing Assistant
- Current C.P.R. and other certifications as needed
- Schedule: 2nd shift (3pm -11pm) w/2 days off weekly
- 1 year experience working in a mental health-related field (preferred)
