Job Summary:
The primary role of the Facilities Maintenance Lead is to oversee a diverse team of maintenance professionals. This includes coordinating schedules and managing workflow for those responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance across the facility.
Supervises daily operations of maintenance staff while providing guidance, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance to align with program objectives such as Quality, Schedule, and Cost.
Furthermore, the Lead actively promotes continuous improvement and the enhancement of technical skills, talent, and overall performance. The individual ensures a safe working environment and takes prompt corrective action to address any unsafe conditions.Essential Duties:
1. Lead, supervise, and guide maintenance personnel to ensure operational targets are consistently met.
2. Recruit, train, develop, and motivate team members while fostering a culture of continuous improvement (including mistake-proofing and lean manufacturing strategies), a positive and safe work environment, and operational excellence (quality, cost, and delivery).
3. Ensure that production staff are properly trained and certified for their assigned tasks.
4. Ensure that team members are aware of the team's objectives and that all performance metrics are aligned to support the team's goals.
5. Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor to effectively address both manufacturing and staffing challenges and process inefficiencies.
6. Actively supervise multiple shifts and/or areas of manufacturing, fostering a collaborative environment that ensures teamwork and accountability.
7. Conduct annual performance evaluations, pay adjustments, and Career Development Plans for direct reports.
8. Manage overtime scheduling and implement plans for overtime reduction.
9. Facilitate regular informational and improvement team meetings.
10. Monitor adherence to safety regulations, including ergonomics and compliance with 6S, Visual Management, and other manufacturing standards.
11. Develop and maintain effective communication channels for production metrics and general business updates.
12. Demonstrate and promote team-oriented behavior.
13. Support and advocate for Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.
14. Empower team members by recognizing and rewarding contributions in accordance with company guidelines.
15. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, practices, and standards.
16. Communicate all manufacturing issues clearly and provide assistance where necessary to management and support functions.
17. Manage and deliver expectations during daily tier meetings.
18. Coordinate and oversee material flow, accuracy, quality, and maintenance support requirements.
19. Strive to improve schedule linearity, reduce cycle times and inventory, lower costs, and enhance employee engagement.
20. Monitor Value Stream (VS) productivity and ensure staffing levels are balanced to meet manufacturing plans.
21. Collaborate with other shift leads to ensure consistency in manufacturing practices across shifts and value streams.
22. Actively participate in and lead projects aimed at driving operational excellence improvements, including Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
23. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing/operations and direct people management in a high-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Experience in preventative maintenance practices.
Ability to read blueprints and utilize CAD software.
Familiarity with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
Strong commitment to safety and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Results-oriented with a proven ability to meet production deadlines and objectives.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and 6S principles.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Inventory Management Systems and/or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a manufacturing context.
Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change initiatives.
Experience in regulated environments (e.g., FDA or medical device sectors).
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and Just-In-Time manufacturing methodologies.
ISO 9000 experience.
Experience with assembly automation processes.
Understanding of Statistical Process Control principles.
Demonstrated ability to transform workflows into efficient, lean operations.
