As a key member of the Cloud Platform Engineering team, you will contribute to the development of Five9's next-generation, state-of-the-art Modern SaaS platform. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Cloud Platform Build Team to develop the next generation of Modern SaaS utilizing public multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud technologies.
  • Establish automation capabilities for common abstractions, tools, and CI/CD processes to facilitate the progressive delivery of Cloud Native applications.
  • Empower all Five9 development teams with a Cloud Native developer workflow, providing training and tools to automate software delivery with a focus on scalability and high availability.
  • Design and construct secure, highly scalable, enterprise-grade platform services.
  • Clearly document and communicate architectural and implementation solutions.
  • Work in close partnership with product managers, architects, testers, and development teams.
  • Troubleshoot and provide support for the current Cloud platform in production.
  • Utilize expertise to debug and resolve production issues.

Key Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in DevOps or production operations.
  • 5+ years of experience in delivering Cloud Native applications.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD tools such as GitLab and TeamCity.
  • In-depth knowledge of public cloud infrastructures (GCP preferred, AWS, Azure).
  • Practical experience with core Cloud services – compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Proven experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), responsible for building robust platforms through automation.
  • Experience in building automation and deploying high-quality software using testing frameworks and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux-based systems and runtimes.
  • Strong development skills in one or more programming languages such as Python, Terraform, Golang, or Java.
  • Expertise in current technology stacks including Helm, K8S, Istio, GCP, AWS, GKE, EKS, Terraform, and SRE/DevOps practices.
  • A DevOps mindset with familiarity in Site Reliability Engineering concepts, demonstrating a strong sense of ownership throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
  • Some experience with at least one Cloud Provider automation tool.
  • Understanding of the requirements for running mission-critical software in production.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and collaborate effectively in an agile environment.

Work Location: This role is hybrid, requiring in-office presence three days a week.
