Correctional Officer

Job Summary:

Anson County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Detention Officer to join our team. As a Detention Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of inmates in the Anson County Jail.

• Provide security and supervision of inmates, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Process incoming and outgoing inmates, including searches, property management, and documentation.
• Transport inmates to court, hospitals, and other facilities as needed.
• Assist with medical emergencies and provide basic life support as necessary.
• Monitor and maintain the security of the jail, including cameras and alarms.
• Supervise visitations and phone calls, ensuring the safety and security of all individuals.
• Prepare and maintain records, documentation, and logs related to daily operations and inmate activities.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous detention or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Must complete DOCC Certification within one year of employment.

Tasks may involve exposure to disease and violence. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
