We are currently offering an intriguing opportunity for the Oncology Research RN role, which encompasses a variety of professional nursing responsibilities. These include assisting physicians, collecting samples, gathering information, following up with patients, data collection, administering medications, collaborating with healthcare teams, educating patients, responding to emergencies, preparing patients, and managing sedation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians during examinations as required, ensuring all necessary information is prepared for review.
  • Collect patient samples, including blood and urine, and prepare them for analysis or shipment. Record vital signs such as heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, weight, and temperature.
  • Schedule and follow up on patient appointments, addressing routine inquiries from patients and their families, and providing educational resources.
  • Compile laboratory reports, data, and patient records.
  • Under the guidance of medical personnel, administer medications to patients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Respond to emergencies, including anaphylaxis, hypoglycemia, hypotension, hemorrhage, and respiratory distress.
  • Oversee and evaluate the work of support staff, including Clinic Clerks and Medical Assistants, serving as a lead when minimal supervision is required.
  • Assist with the conscious sedation process for patients.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to effectively fulfill the role.


Job Location

Required Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Certifications or Licenses:

  • Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Oklahoma
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

Essential Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic and treatment techniques for illness or injury, including treatment alternatives and drug interactions.
  • Thorough understanding of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to listen and comprehend effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to interact with staff, physicians, visitors, and patients in a professional and courteous manner, even in high-pressure situations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with students, faculty, staff, and healthcare providers.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Prolonged periods of standing, regular bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing.
